Lian's disposition has gone abruptly downhill. Somehow she managed to get Vincent in a worse mood, and that just doesn't sit well with her. Which is, perhaps, the reason that her order for a cup of tea sounds so pathetically dejected.
Teresa maintains a sunny outlook, though inside she's rather concerned about Lian. This whole "other world" thing really seems to have bogged her down, and she's not acting as caring and generous as usual. Teresa's not worried yet, though. If Lian wants to talk, she'll do it in her own good time, and besides, there's food at hand. "Coffee. Cream, or milk, whichever." Not that she's hungry.
Gabe isn't much in the mood for eating either. He's gotten himself back together (which means no emotions) but he keeps a mental eye on Lian, and Teresa too, because the both of them really ARE his responsibility - or at least they had been in the past, however much they resented being responsibilities. "I don't like that term," Lian had said once. "It makes me sound like a burden, and a burden is one thing I don't ever plan to be." And Teresa had responded as well, though not nearly as tactfully. "I'm my own responsibility, goddamnit, and I WILL get myself shot on my own terms, not yours or anyone else's, Gabriel Logan!"
Gabe smirks, then remembers where he is. "Black coffee." Screw the milk and cream. He wants to be awake, and he wants to be awake NOW.
