If Vincent notices Lian's dejected nature, he says nothing about it and simply orders a cup of tea. Cloud cheerfully requests orange juice.
The waitress jots this all down on her pad, allowing her eyes to rove over the customers. Cloud she recognizes and knows that if he's not married, he will be soon. Vincent she knows as well, and she knows his rather depressed nature. Irvine, however, is a new face, as well as Gabriel, Teresa, and Lian. She dismisses Gabe as being "too old" and decides to become more acquainted with Irvine. . . later. With a cute bow and a sunny smile, she practically skips back to the kitchen.

Sev is practically ready to give up on ever getting a chocobo and is about to go it on foot when he spots one trotting over the plain. It is accompanied by two ugly-looking monsters, but Sev recognizes them as being relatively weak ones (even if he doesn't remember what they're called). The first thing he does is chuck the gysahl green in front of the chocobo. With a happy chirrup, the enormous yellow bird immediately begins pecking at it, oblivious to the gunshots and the bullets whizzing by that take out its two companions. Sev jogs over to the chocobo and takes a healthy grip of his neckfeathers just as it ingests the last of the gyshal green.
"Easy now," Sev mutters, trying his best to sound soothing. But even wild chocobos are very accomodating, for the most part, and it settles down with a minimum of warking and shuffling. Sev hauls himself up on its back with a grunt and is speeding off over the grasslands minutes later, headed east.
