Sorry, Lay, it's just that...well, I guess dragons have dominated my life for so long I may have become a little single-minded. I probably think about making a difference far more often than I should.
Don't say that, Lya. That is why I chose you. It will make you a good Weyrlady someday. Of which weyr it does not matter. Soon, new Weyrs must be founded, if the dragonrider population continues to grow. Maybe we can even name one? Layath asked wistfully.
Kalya laughed, glad that her lifemate could always relieve her depression.
But what would we name a Weyr if we could, Lay?
What would you name it. Whatever you want is fine with me.
I'd name it...Kahrain Weyr or Killawney Weyr. Those sound...poetic, in a way...and they're Ancient's names. Then Kalya laughed. What are the chances we'll get to name and start a weyr anytime soon, with High Reaches barely started and Telgar still open?
"Nothing, Lay was just talking to me," Kalya told her friends.
