How many are world qualifiers? How many world medal holders? Oireachtas/Nationals champs? I always said world kids are a different level. Prelim and opens are like ladders. Assume you are coming it at the bottom and work your way up. I say usually by year 2 they start to recall. A lot of kids start leaving around this age- making competition harder. Less recall spots and really the kids who don’t leave are the top kids. Just keep practicing- like

  • Open is very different from the other levels. Top dancers don't move out to make way for the new ones coming in. The good ones stay and continue to be good. If dd wants to place, her training needs to be different than it was in lower levels. Takes much more work to place in open. (NT) -- whole different world, 08:09:18 01/30/23 Mon
