Subject: I wouldn’t personally buy the dresses and put that on yourself. If the school wants to start doing that, perhaps those who bought dresses keep them but new dancers rent.

Our school purchases new costumes as needed and we all pay a $50 rental fee per year. Any costume changes needed during that year are included - turn in your old one and get a new one that fits better. It’s a great system because no one gets stuck with a dress they can’t use at some point and there is always a costume that fits - and if there isn’t, the full cost isn’t on us.

If your TC isn’t on board with a rental system, perhaps they can buy back the dresses at a used dress price and then when new dancers need them, they can sell them. But I wouldn’t take that on as just a parent.
