Good points. I don't really see why it was relevant that the columnist put "he gained a reputation as someone who was difficult with the media" at Vanderbilt. Who cares? And how is that relevant to the job he did?

I agree that it is a bit premature to say which candidate would have been a better pick for St. Bonaventure's. I just can't believe the gall of this columnist for second guessing the Bona's AD for taking someone who had won at three previous head coaching jobs, including the toughest job in the SEC, versus someone who had no head coaching experience.
