schools that are d2 and d3 in football have some great traditions. they would have to move to 1aa and that is not going to happen.
as far as making money goes the big schools would not have to share the wealth with the others.
i read a magazine article about how football coach's salaries were getting out of hand.
then they compared the revenue of the football to basketball programs and the basketball coach's were getting the higher percentage wise.
if u go to a football game everyone it seems has a school hat tshirt or sweatshirt or jacket on.
next time u go to a siena game take a look and see what we wear.
course i wear my siena hat to every high school game i go to.
got to give the school some exposure.
i was talking to some kids from saratoga high and none of them could name 5 siena players. they could name all the duke kids though. and that example is in r own backyard.
no wonder that there is so little student interest.
the local rag (saratogian) rarely even mentions siena.
when the saints went to the nit i asked the local managing editor if anyone was going to use the press credentials.
ms lombardo informed me that they didnt have press credentials for siena.
they did have them for skidmore though. heck i get press credentials to skidmore every year.
i also get section 2 passes every year.
all ya gotta do is show support for the programs and the kids.
