Those few satisfying moments seem that much more satisfying while fetishing in the era of scarcity. I did see a surprisingly large number of Hispanic women smoking at my fair this year. I'm not sure how much can be gleaned from this. Most Hispanics in my hometown are Mexican-American descendants of farm workers who came to the area in the 1950s and are about as "culturally white" as you're gonna find. I'm skeptical the demographics are transferable to most other jurisdictions.

I remember your story of a rude smoker girl blowing smoke into your face but I didn't realize the association with a Sawyer Brown concert. I don't remember an era when 120s were cool among young women and girls, but I was only 13 in 1991 so your timeline suggests that's the reason I missed it. What would you say was the peak of 120 smoking by young women and girls?

Good luck in Big Sky Country. You flew in? You mean business. Hopefully it'll be worth your time and the hardened gal at the airport won't be the highlight of your trip. My advice is to be patient in the early hours....and keep your feet in good enough shape for the evening when sighting numbers are more likely to tick up. I don't know much about Missoula but I think it's the Montana equivalent to Seattle and Portland. Did the cowboy locals grumble about Bozeman too? From what I hear, Bozeman is turning into Missoula.
