That was a four day wait. The shortest time was the spanking Leona mentioned, the last one from my stepdad. That one was pretty much instantaneous, with no warning at all. You can think it’s obvious that anyone can jump in, but sometimes it pays off to be explicit about it. In my case, there was no more than a few hours wait, anytime, and I think the one time it was that long was a Sunday afternoon. Usually mom brought up what she had on her mind in the evening, when the day could be summed up. There were exceptions, though, and it also happened that she wanted to have ”a talk” that was an actual talk. It was the pot incident, yes. I don’t remember the dinner as so awkward. I don’t think mom consciously modified her behaviour when dad was at home. I think that she was happier, in a general way, when that was the case. Leona
