A typical controller will cost about $200-$300 new, with another ~60$ for connecting cables and an inverter. The hard part is finding a source. This kind of project is never going to be very cheap, but finding a cheap LCD can make the difference between spending $1000 and $300

You wouldn't necessarily need a video card for your 575. The 575 provides VGA signals through it's motherboard connector. With a little research you could wire these VGA lines to the controller with a homemade cable.
