Well you're in luck boys.

I did this to both of my Mystics. I always considered it an essential upgrade, because I like to think of them as kind of early 90s iMacs, so of course, they need modems. Plus, I HATE external boxes and cords, so "un-Mac" I always think.

The modems I've used are the GV platinum V, which are 28k - almost a reasonable speed - I think 6200s came with these preinstalled by Apple, and you can't use an external modem without removing them, so you can often pick these up on eBay when people upgrade to 56k.

Remember, you need Comm Slot 1, not Comm Slot 2 cards, if you're using an LC 575 logicboard.

Of course as JW mentioned, they are a wee bit too tall to fit in the unaltered CC chassis.

You need to hack (sorry, gently cut) out a strip along the chassis underneath the hard disk (removing it first of course). If you've used the back panel of your donor LC575 to make a new back panel for your CC, then you'll have the handy removable port cover there already.

Once you've used your Comm Slot for a modem, you'll have to change to an LC PDS ethernet card for networking. You can easily get these on eBay as well.
