OK, lemme clear something up here.

Modifying your System with ResEdit will not get you higher resolution.

You shouldn't have any problems doing the hack with a different board installed.

The LC575 uses a different PRAM battery than previous models. More information about that can be found here.

As far as the ResEdit template, I'm pretty sure the template file merely needs to be open while you do the edit. ResEdit, IIRC, loads templates into RAM when you open a file containing them, and they don't need to be transferred. The pickle can probably clear this up more for you if you need it.
