Yes - my solution so far is less expensive - I've got 9" Sharp LCD from old Hitachi subnotebook bought for 10 pounds (about 15 USD :-). It was considered dead - so I bought it from my employer (hmm - a simple repair in DC/DC converter and it's working for me now). I guess I was just lucky.

Nevertheless, I'll not be so lucky with the other parts. I still do want to go through pure digital solution and try to hook up the 6bits LCD signals to the ATI Xclaim 3D Plus (or Radeon may be - I'm still thinking about it).

BTW, do you know that 6500/5500 logic board might have the digital output signals for the LCD itself? This thought stroke me when I was thinking about "Twentiesth annivesary Macs" - they used to have the same logic board. And according to their service manual with some disassembling pictures - they don't have any special PCI card installed for driving LCD. If only we could find someone owning this rare mashine to trace the signals...

Alex
