Subject: PCC with a working 5500/225 Board!

Based on a message I saw from Stuart, I went ahead and installed a 5500/225 locig board in my machine, in place of the 5260/100, and it worked perfectly, even though I do not have the additional 3.3v power supply installed. I also replaced the 4 GB drive with a 20 GB. The only problem I ran into was that the Apple CS II Ethernet card is to tall. I am going to track down a Farallon 10/100 CS II card tommorow at work and see if it's any smaller. If not, I will have to go the PCI route and install the 3.3v regulator. A Sonnet G3 card is next. Has anyone tried hooking up an Apple TV tuner card? Mine is not working. It's probably because of the hack job I did on the chassis cable. I will probably make up another one. FYI, the analog board in an LC 520 is almost identical to a CC's, only a bit wider. They are a good source of donor parts for the stereo upgrade, or for general repair parts. Also, the connector on the chassis cable for the analog board is identical, so it is also a good donor. Does anyone have any suggestions on crimping the IDC ribbon cables? I had terrible luck the first time. Also, do you know which way the ribbon cable goes on the front panel board? I'm not sure if the cable should be on the front or back side of the connector, when you plug it into the board. I plugged it in the wrong way the first time and fried my analog board. Ugh! Thanks for you help!
