Sometimes I was in white sports socks like the image, other times for example on a school night I’d be in dress socks normally black or navy socks. I would probably be crying as well.

That image brings back memories! My bum was a bit red but never as bad as the image! Mum and dad were controlled in their whacks, it was always enough to hurt but never over the top. They were well able to make it effective only with their hands as well. Even at 15 I had a good cry after mum or dad smacked me only using their hands.
