 When I was growing up In Scotland in the 1970s discipline was very simple if I got out of line I was put over my mother's knee and I'd get my bare backside smacked really hard she would call it "A GOOD SMACKING" I learned from an early age to fear her smacking hand I WILL NEVER FORGET the horrible sting it was the most painful thing I've ever experienced I've never screamed so much in all my life she smacked cheeks sit spots and the tops of the backs of my legs I learned some horrible lessons over her knee screaming howling and bawling choking back on the rivers of tears streaming down my face my backside was so sore after it I could not sit she didn't need to use anything else believe me she had a REALLY hard hand I WILL NEVER FORGET the "GOOD SMACKINGS" I received from her it really did teach me lessons I WILL NEVER FORGET and I thank her for it
