Date Posted: 21:08:49 02/27/26 Fri There is a saying; When in Rome; do as the Romans do.This applies to me this week. My mom & dad went to a convention this week and I stayed with my uncle's family in town closer to my school. The family has 10 year old girl and a 12 year old boy. I am 14 and slept in the top bunk in his room. Wednesday evening, I went to see a guy I know from school that lives a couple blocks away. I didn't get home until after 9:00 PM making me late. My parents don't get too excited unless I'm really late. My uncle has a completely different opinion on how late I stay out. He was really mad when I arrived that late at night. My 12 year old cousin was the first one I saw and told me as I walked in the back door that I was in big time trouble. As I was getting a drink out of the refrigerator, my uncle walked in. My cousin immediately ran out of the room up to our bedroom. My uncle just said, "My office! NOW!" and followed me into his home office. He pointed to the arm of the couch and told me to drop my pants and undies and bend over the couch. I started to argue but got cut off with the "You are old enough, reasonable time to get home, yadda, yadda speech." He just stood there pointing at the arm until I was over the arm with my bare butt sticking up in the air. Next thing I saw was him holding the same Jokari game paddle I used to get from my dad before he started using a belt on me a couple years ago. The same paddle grandpa used on my dad and uncle when they were kids. I lost count how many swats I got but it seemed like a lot. At least in the teens. I had a bruise on my butt the next day but the good news was we had health class Thursday so we didn't have to change out or shower for PE class. Today, the evidence was mostly gone but I managed to keep my back to the wall while showering and changing. I will definately remember to clearly remember the rules of any house I stay at now.
