Date Posted: 00:04:04 03/27/26 Fri I can't think of any occasion where I got in trouble at home and I wasn't spanked. Obviously I am not including times where my parents gave a verbal reprimand as a warning to immediately correct a minor misbehaviour. In a post to Tyler I mentioned that in high school I never got a courtesy and consideration code, uniform code, lunchtime detention - other consequences included picking up rubbish at lunchtime, gym/field/pool workout, isolation, after schhol community service, suspension and ultimately expulsion. This made me remember once in high school where I probably should of been punished. I was in Year 10 (14-15 years old). In music class a girl was being a [expletive]. So I called her an [expletive]. The teacher heard and told me to apologise and that was that. No copying out a courtesy and consideration code or serving a lunchtime detention. A boy in my class was flicking rubberbands at another boy and he got after school community service - I get that the school called it bullying, although in my opinion that was a bit of stretch. If I had been school like 40 years prior (1970s) and swore at another student I probably would have been sent to the Principal or Deputy Principal's office and caned. Interested to hear other members stories. Did you ever get in trouble but escaped a punishment? [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |
