I am a mother of two children, a boy Hal now 13 and a girl Annie who is 10. Both get spanked fairly often at their present ages for one thing or another, Hal three to five times a month on average and Annie less often but at least once or twice a month.

My daughter always begs and pleads to be let off "just this once", and then when she sees that's not going to work as I'm undressing her, it becomes "please just spank me with your hand today, Ok? You don't have to use the paddle, really--oh, Mom, please don't use the paddle today, puuulleeeeze!" Of course, she always gets the paddle too when I do spank her.

My son on the other hand gave up all such pleas long ago. Last week he really cracked me up. I had promised him in the morning that I was going to spank him good when he got home from school after I had just found several days of dirty clothes shoved onto the floor at the back of his closet instead of being brought down to the clothes hamper in the washing machine room.

As he came up to the back door from the school bus that day I heard him call to some of his pals down on the sidewalk, "I won't be down to the park to shoot hoops today, Guys. Mom has plans to give me some singing lessons. She wants me to be an opera singer some day so she makes me sing very loud for a half hour or so a couple of times a week."

Yes, that really made me laugh, but, yes, he did indeed do plenty of loud singing before I finally finished with my hairbrush that day. Maya
