When my sister first proposed maintenance spankings for my nephew, I was not enthusiastic — simply because the concept was new to me. I read about them here (and in other Voy fora) and came to appreciate the concept. Then we started, and I have become an enthusiastic supporter of them.
Donnie gets his maintenance spanking every Friday afternoon. That places it at the end of the school week, and prepares Donnie for transition from his homeschool lessons to the weekend. His mom handles the spanking there at home every other Friday, and I handle it here every other Friday when I bring him here to the farm where I live.
As we drive from their home to mine, he and I discuss how his week has been; any papers or test results that he wishes were higher, any behavioral missteps with his mom, any “close calls” for discipline, etc.
When we arrive here, I tell him it’s time for his “reminder spanking” (his mother’s term for it) and I lead him to the living room and I sit on the sofa. I undress him and then, as he stands in front of me, we talk about the importance of school and of obedience to his mom. Then he lays across my lap, and I give his bare bottom a long mild-to-moderate spanking. Definitely not punishment, but enough to bring him to the “whimpering” stage and to make him squirm with discomfort.
After the spanking, I sit him up on my lap, on his knees, facing me, with his knees straddling my hips. We hug and cuddle and, as his whimpering subsides, I rub his back and his thighs, and we quietly talk about strategies for behaving well over the weekend and week to come. It is a wonderful way to begin our weekend together, and I am grateful that my sister directed that we begin these maintenance spankings.
