I can see why that could be construed as a sexual offense. And I really do hope that you don't think that I'm trying to justify what he did. I am not, and would NEVER!

I was just describing the kind of things Nicole and I did to each other growing up. Noogies, T.T.s, and the like, they were all a part of our playtime.

She also gave me a wedgie on one occasion. (She hooked me to the damn fence!) I don't recall that I ever did that to her. But then it's difficult to do, when one wears overalls all the time.

I think I might dare say that she and I were younger when we were doing those sorts of things than you and the boy you described. We were certainly more familiar with each other, and our parents were miles more familiar with each other.

My original point was that "boys will be boys" was not used as an excuse in those sorts of situations with us. Certainly, by the time I was in fifth grade, touching another girl's breasts, (even touching Nicole's breasts) would've been out of Bounds.

But up till then touching another girl would have been a case of "cooties" anyway. We would be fine with playing in the pond or whatever, but actually touching was considered gross. Nicole was the only exception to that rule for me. I don't recall how I justified it.

To me, she was one of the guys! But cooties, was actually a secondary reason for why I never tried to give her a wedgie!
