Hey Sweetie!

It's funny you mentioned that "Cute little deer" paddle. We were down at Gulf Shores late last summer and my daughter and I were shopping in the tons of Gift Stores down there while my hubby and sons were checking out a couple of the Amusement Centers. In one of those stores we went to, they had some old time novelties which included a few novelty paddles. One of them was a "Cute little Deer with a Bear Behind" paddle with pictures of a deer and a bear on it. I saw on the handle it said, "Grip here firmly in case of frustration." I was laughing and picked one up and my daughter saw me holding it. I said, "Look here Baby Girl." She looked at me and laughed and said "Don't be getting any ideas Momma." I laughed and gave her a playful little pop on the butt with it before hanging it back up. I saw they had another one that said "Board of Education" on it which had a drawing on it, of a man paddling a little boy crying with a red butt. On it's handle it said something like, "To be applied to the "Seat of Learning". There were a few others with little sayings on them. I almost gave in and bought one, more for a joke than anything else, but I passed.

Thinking back, I remembered one of my teachers had a novelty paddle that she used on her kids at School. It was one of the "Board of Education" paddles. I remember her threatening to get the "Board of Education" out to use on misbehaving students, including me, and yeah, I did get paddled with it a couple of times.
But since it was over my clothed butt, it didn't really hurt all that bad. It just stung a little but it was more embarrassing than painful. But from your descriptions of your experiences with your Momma's "Cute little Deer" paddle, I imagine on a bare butt, it would have been pretty effective. I guess I was lucky to have never found out the hard way.

Are you still in Kentucky? I see they have been having some severe weather there including tornadoes. I hope you're doing ok up there and keep your eyes on the sky Sweetie.
