That sounds incredibly unpleasant. I can identify with the lecture on repeat. For me, that might have been worse than the spanking, though, based on your description of her technique, that sounded pretty bad by itself. The lecture about being ladylike and getting a husband . . . Omg. By the time I was 12/13 I would have had a hard time not rolling my eyes, which, I'm sure would have resulted in dire consequences.
