That's sweet. I was fond of many of my teachers. Some were more like a second mother than a teacher, and I loved them in spite of the fact they spanked me on occasion. Others were like having a good friend that I could talk to about anything, and they made me feel really good about myself. Mr. Allen, however, was always special to me.

On the flip side, there were a few I didn't care for and a couple I downright didn't like whether they punished me or not. The gym teacher who paddled me for not dressing out was a little too strict and seemed to take herself too seriously. She sometimes berated the girls who were less gifted when it came to athletic activity. I had an English teacher in Eighth grade who was from up north and he would make fun of students who had strong southern accents. Including me. He never punished me at all, no detentions or anything like that but, he constantly berated kids like me with our "hick accents". Then of course, there was the Assistant Principal who gave me that really bad paddling.

So I loved some of them and others not so much.
