Honey, it wasn't so much about making a statement as it was about personal comfort. I found having hair down there very uncomfortable. To me it was itchy and on our hot southern days, very uncomfortable. Also when wearing swimsuits, it peeks our and sometimes even feels like your itchy or getting pinched. Also, I won't even go into how nasty it feels when I was on
your period. So in addition to comfort, hygene was a thing. I really flaunt it or anything like that. When I got my spankings, I was more likely to hurry up and get over Momma or Daddy's lap once my panties came down. So the exposure was kept at a bare minimum, Pardon the pun. Also, as I got into my teens, I didn't spend much time rubbing and carrying on before pulling my panties back up after the spanking.

Also, It did set me up for a little bit of ribbing from my sister as she started developing, having hair and I didn't. Plus some of the girls at school commented about it in the locker room. Some thought it was weird, others thought it was cool. My best friend Ramona, after seeing me hairless thought she would try it. Her Momma gave her a little grief over it, but let her do it. But after she nicked herself a couple of times, she decided not to do it anymore. My cousin Cassie on the other hand, thought it was cool and started doing it too.

There was a time I nicked myself when I was shaving and let out a loud "OH SHIT!" My sister heard me cuss and told Momma on me. Momma came knocking on the bathroom door asking what happened. I just said, "I cut myself shaving". She just said, "I nick my legs every now and then too." I said, "It wasn't my leg Momma." Momma came into the bathroom and said, "Let's see." I was covering it with a washcloth. and moved it so she could see. She just said, "It's just a little nick, It'll be ok. She handed me a tube of Neosporin. and said put a little of this on it and it'll be ok." I dabbled a little on the cut and put a band aid on it. Momma patted my butt and said, You'll be ok, just be more careful.

As far as being confident and uninhibited. Maybe. I'm definately uninhabited. I ran around naked as much as I could get away with as a kid, ran around the house in my underwear in my teens. My parents are pretty old fashioned in a lot of ways, but we weren't taught to be ashamed of our bodies. I don't exactly run around the house naked all the time now, but I'm still pretty unhibited.

As far as pulling down my own panties instead of my parents pulling them down. To me it was embarrassing either way, but it was more embarrassing to have it done for me than to do it myself. I guess to me it was a matter of having a little bit of control. Also, I think it made the situation a little better for me because, by baring myself for the spanking, it showed I was cooperating and accepting my punishment
