I had a friend named Todd when I was 11. Todd’s father was a well known ne’er do well, and my parents were rather suspicious of him. Somehow, they found out Todd was stealing their cigarettes from the top of the refrigerator, and forbade me from seeing him anymore. Banned from my house, Todd would come to the front door and ask for cigarettes. I wanted to seem cool, so I would get them for him.

My mom noticed they went missing and interrogated me about it, and I admitted what I had done. She asked if I had smoked any, I answered truthfully that I had not. Mom told me that she was too angry to deal with me, and sent me to my room to await my father’s punishment.

I don’t remember much of the spanking itself. My father used his belt on my bare bottom, I think I was lying face down on my bed. Usually, a belt spanking from my father started off with me bending over the bed, and ended with me face down when I tried to get away.

I’m not sure if it was worse due to the number, the force they were delivered, or both. I had a bruise on the sit spot of my right cheek where the belt had hit keenly, the only time I was left with a bruise after a spanking. I was very angry for awhile after, I didn’t understand why I was spanked so hard.

I don’t know if they were angry about the disobedience for seeing Todd, angry that I stole the cigarettes, or simply trying to ensure that Todd would not peer pressure me into smoking. Either way, my butt paid the price!
