I never got spanked for my grades. I was usually an A or B student. The worst I ever had was a couple of D's. Momma and Daddy had a long talk with me telling me I could do better. Instead of threatening me, they gave me incentive to work harder and both times I brought them back up.

The Conduct grades were another matter. They expected us to behave ourselves at School, period. Normally, getting in trouble at School meant spankings at home. So they expected to see Satisfactory marks on our Conduct grades. A NI or needs improvement got you a stern talking to. Getting a U or Unsatisfactory you got your bare butt spanked good. I usually did well on the Conduct grades except for one. I had the habit of talking too much. Go figure. So guess who found herself with their panties down, getting a trip over their Momma's knee? We got report cards every nine weeks and I'd managed to get spanked a few times for talking too much. You'd think I'd learn, right?
