All of my spankings were on the bare no matter who gave the spanking. My mom would use a wooden spoon for “milder” offenses which was general disobedience. If we did something she deemed more serious then we would go over her lap for her ivory hairbrush. She also kept a small ping pong paddle in her purse for any misbehaving outside our home and wouldn’t hesitate to take us to a restroom or the backseat of her van. My father always used his belt so his severity level was pretty much the same.
