One warning that all us boys commonly heard from Dad was along lines "Stop, or you wont like sitting down for the next week".

Not so much embarrassing, but it got our attention, cause we knew he could make good on that promise.

When i was past a warning stage and was actually about to get smacked, the last words were often the instruction to bend over. There was no getting out of it at that point
