The only other time I technically "broke the law" that comes to mind was when I was nineteen. Romana and I decided to go to a Field party because it was Saturday night and our boyfriends had to work. Both of us being virgin drinkers, we decided to have some beer and cooler and got pretty hammered. We decided driving was a bad idea and locked up the car and walked to a nearby gas station to see if we could get my boyfriend to pick us up after he got off work. I got ahold of Mark right after he got home from work and he said, he'd pick us up. A Deputy showed up and instead of arresting us, he just hung out with us till Mark got there. We got Ramona who was pretty much out on her feet in her parent's house and then Mark got me home. I was almost out when he got me in the door and he and Daddy got me to bed. Momma, got my shoes and pants off I asked her if she was going to spank me and she kissed me on the head and told me no and get some sleep. I passed out after that.

I woke up the next morning with the hangover from Hell. Daddy stayed home from church to take care of me. I cried and threw up everything but my shoe soles. He helped me and then put me back to bed. Brought me some tylenol and some kind of concoction he called "Grandpappy's Swamp Elixer" to make me feel better. It tasted awful but helped settle my stomach. No spankings that day but believe me when I tell you, I did get a good talking to from Momma and Daddy about drinking underage and in public. I didn't drink anymore after that. Still don't. The only times I drank after that were sips(singular) of champagne at my wedding and the reception and at my best friend Ramona's wedding. I'll take good old fashioned Southern Iced Tea or a Pepsi over anything alcoholic any day.
