Hi Jean!
Whilst I never remember any adult 'explicitly' making a point about your genitals being exposed in an effort to humiliate you and add this to the punishment you already had coming, 'implicitly' I think many mothers, aunts, fathers, uncles and other authority figures such as babysitters valued and used this form of humiliation to make your ordeal even worse. Certainly in my experience with regard to my own spankings and those that I witnessed, those administering the spanking were not in the slightest bit concerned about the fact that along with your buttocks being exposed your genetalia was also! They I believe even, in many cases delighted in your embarrassment and discomfort! A tatic and attitude that as I remember extended to both boys and girls equally! I have often reflected on why this unnecessary form of humiliation was deployed and can only conclude that they felt it made the punishment itself even more effective; was what they themselves had gone through growing up so felt it was suitable for us as well; and that many adults and authority figures such as baby sitters derived sexual pleasure from it! As you yourself say Jean these practices were cruel and I may add unnecessary but certainly the spankings themselves were"extremely effective!"
