I remember when I was a girl, about 8-12 years old, my aunt had a way of threatening spanking by emphasizing that your genitals would be exposed as opposed to threatening the spanking itself. I heard her say on multiple occasions to cousins and my brother “if you don’t stop what you’re doing I will make sure everyone sees what you have dangling between your legs.” She also said to my brother once when he was 12 “do you want me to bare your bottom and spank you right here? I have no problem having your underpants off in front of the girls and I don’t care if they see your little penis, but I know you care. So stop it now.”

It’s the type of words that burn into your memory, even when they’re not directed at you. That same summer I was actually sentenced to a spanking upon getting back to the beach house. At that point my uncle took a page out of her playbook and said “when we get back to the pool I’m going to take your swim bottoms down and put you over my knee, so your cousins are gonna get a look at your privates along with seeing your spanking.” It was tough to remain stoic when hearing such a thing, and there was no use. Such a statement was guaranteed to induce serious blushing particularly during the tween years.

When my brother Jeremy was 11 and I was 10 our live in nanny Clara gave him a bare bottom hand spanking in front of me. It was not done in a hurry. In retrospect, it was probably cruel to openly acknowledge that our genitals would be exposed and point out how embarrassing it was going to be particularly if opposite sex witnesses were present, but I can’t lie and say those spankings weren’t extremely effective.
