In one of my other posts on this forum I related how one of my babysitters invited three of her girlfriends over and I was passed from lap to lap as all four of them spanked my bare buttocks. This happened on two occasions. I knew kids who endured this sort of thing much more frequently from their own babysitters. Looking back now, in my case to the 50s and 60s - but I'm sure for a lot of younger folks to the 70s and 80s- spanking was a highly sexualised practice! And although not all parents and adults in general derived sexual pleasure from it a fair percentage of them did! I suspect far more then one would care to admit! And of course the sexual and erotic aspect of spanking was often cloaked with and concealed behind disciplinary purpose and the fact that biblical teaching and the Church advocated, encouraged and even demanded it! It was also seen as being essential for the good of Society etc.... People in those days were also far more naive, trusting and innocent than they are now! Not often suspecting the sexual motives behind the bare bottom spankings that were the norm of the times! And even if they had any suspicions they were compensated by the belief that these spankings did kids and teenagers even sometimes young adults a lot of good. After all previous generations of kids and teenagers had benefited from them so they must be right! It was these ideas and beliefs that, I believe anyway, perpetuated this form of 'old fashioned', more often than not highly sexualised, bare bottom, over the knee spanking for so long! And of course, if they were honest, it was for many adults a real treat to see some kid or teenager over a knee getting their exposed buttocks soundly spanked! It was a rite of passage many of them had had to go through, after all! When I reflect on the past and on the things I experienced, saw, heard and heard about these are my thoughts and opinions on the subject, Rob, anyway!
