Rob, that is dependent on numerous factors. The era and rural location I grew up in meant that the majority of the boys in my HS were still spanked. I went to a HS of 167 students in the southwest corner of Kansas. 7th through 12 grades, with 26 students in my senior class, 12 of whom were boys. And I can remember Alex and myself laughing while doing a poll and between us we could verify that of those 12, 10 had been spanked within the past year. And to the best of our knowledge all were spanked bare. As for the other two, our best educated guess was that they still were as well. This said, only two were spanked around females. The others might have gotten lippy and then been ordered to drop 'em and gotten spanked out in the field with daddy's belt. Or taken to the barn for a dose of the strap, or worst case scenario taken to a bedroom and bent over a knee or chair and spanked with wood. Worse case as inside a small country house, everyone could, in effect, hear ever plea, crack and then cry. As for the other two, one had a mom who even at 18 was still baring and spanking her son. And the other had a dad who spanked in front of anyone, he was mad. Sisters, mother, aunts, he didn't care. But at one point in time, in one area of America, you were spanked! Especially if male.

And as a side note: Most dads would spank their sons in front of other males, say at a grain silo, without blinking an eye. Why that poll, even with only 12 males, was so easy. Let's say while Jeff was there he was ordered to pull his pants and unders down to his ankles and bend over and get the belt, on the spot. I mean come on, within male circles, usually via the barbershop, that it was old news three days later. And trust me when I say that news had been passed on in vivid detail.

What is becoming obvious to me is that I am of a generation before many of our posters, which is surprising to me, or maybe it was because I was so country, rural.
