As a typical kid growing up in Kentucky in the sixties and seventies, I can say spankings were pretty commonplace. Not only from parents, but from parents of my friends, neighbors, and at school and Sunday or bible school as well. Back in those days. Honestly, it was so common that MOST people didn't give it a second thought if you spanked your child in public, even if the spanking was bare bottom.

Thinking back between the ages of six and eleven were when I seemed to get the most spankings. The bulk of those spankings were from my mother and all her spankings were bare bottom whenever and wherever it was needed. I even got spankings bare in public from her on more than a few occasions. Also, I was more likely to get in trouble at school which usually resulted in a spanking and one one occasion I got spanked bare at school. But getting in trouble at school or if I was at someone else's house, once again, resulted in a bare bottom spanking from mom.

Once I hit twelve, while I still got an occasional spanking they were much less frequent and I got my last few spankings when I was fifteen.

So between six and eleven were the years I got the most spankings.
