I'm not sure it was the age where I got the "most" spankings, but for sure the ages where I got the most important and by far the most memorable spankings were my last couple pre-teen (ages 10-11-12) years. Those were also my final few years before my parents decided to stop using spankings.

I was definitely more adventurous and would test my parents expectations during that age range. I was already being paddled when I reached age nine, sometimes bare butt, sometimes over my jeans. Even though the paddle stung like hell through my jeans, when I was about nine or nine and a half, my mother decided (and dad agreed) all spankings (=paddlings) would be bare from now on. That decision, and how I was paddled was important.

Over 40 years have passed, but I still recall some of those final paddling at age 11-12. My dad didn't necessarily give LONG spankings. I doubt I ever had a spanking that even took a full minute. But he was meticulous to have a good hold on me. He gave some HARD but slow spanks to get me started, and even at twelve I would be crying like a little kid. But his real trick was to stop a few seconds, make sure he had a tight grip, and then he spanked just as hard, and FAST. It was probably never more than twenty more fast ones, but the stings came so fast there was no time to adapt. It was simply 15-20 seconds of unbearable sting, and I no longer cried, but instead probably howled and screamed.
Looking back, I think those pre-teen paddlings helped make me a better behaved teen in my high school years, when I was never given a spanking.
