The only prep I really had from mom when she spanked was getting chewed out and then being told to pull my pants down and bend over. If she used an implement instead of her hand, she already had it in hand before she started chewing us out. Once your butt was bare, you depending on what she said, bent over her knee or over the table, arm of the couch or whatever and she blistered your bare bottom. Sometimes there was some additional chewing out as you pulled your pants up. Then sometimes if we were at home, you got sent to your room after to think about things.
