She had a brush for spanking that had long outlived any hygiene usefulness. Barely any bristles on it. I'm not sure it was the original one used to spank my mom and her siblings. I am the 11th of 12 grandkids. I know that at least the six older cousins who lived locally all felt it at one point or another. I sneaked it out when we were cleaning out her house after she passed but I eventually gave it to my cousin Jackie who might be the only person I know more spanking interested than I am.

Part of the ritual of the belt from my dad was hearing it rip through the belt loops of the same Wrangler Jeans he wore every day of his life. He bought the same belt over and over from a friend of his in Mexico who owned a leather shop. One time I was there with him for some boots he had had his friend make me. Then I saw my dad's friend stamping our last name into yet another identical looking belt and my first thought was that it would soon be used on me.
