Did anyone else get spankings around bedtime?

My parents spanked me as a child, it wasn't frequent or the go to discipline but it did happen.

One of these spankings I remember quite vividly, I was about 6 when it happened. In my room there was a crt TV that I would watch magic school bus or whatever.

I was already being a pain for my mom that night, throwing a fit while she got me ready for bed. While I was being sent to bed I remember arguing with her to stay up because it was the weekend and I wanted to watch TV.

Well that of course didn't work and the lights were turned off anyways as I got into bed. I waited a couple of minutes before deciding to turn on the TV myself. Bad idea, the tv turned on to a loud static, next thing I heard was moms footsteps marching towards my door.

Next thing I now the light was switched on and I was being pulled over her lap. I initially tried to resist but to no use, once the spanking actually started I froze up and let it happen while I cried. I remember it stinging quite a bit and it still stung once I was let go.

Mom unplugged the tv and gave me a lecturing before I was put back to bed. The next morning mom was acting like nothing happened.
