I didn't get my first two piece until I was thirteen. I always wore one piece suits. But when I was thirteen we were going to go on vacation in Florida. So Momma took us shopping for new swimsuits among other things. I really wanted to get a bikini. But as well developed as I was at that age, Momma was a little bit hesitant. I begged her to let me get one. So she told me, "Find one that isn't too skimpy and I'll get it, but if turns out it's too skimpy, You're gonna get a one piece. Ok? I agreed. After about thirty minutes I found a really nice looking black bikini that was trimmed in blue. I had to have it. Momma thought it might be just a little too skimpy. But was willing to take a chance on it. She asked the clerk and she said we couldn't do that because of the Board of Health considers swimwear to be the same as underwear. Momma asked, how about if we go into the fitting room, I have her strip down to her underwear and try it that way? She thought about it for a minute and then said, "Well I guess trying it on over her underwear wouldn't be any different from trying on other clothes." So she let us do it. Momma and I went into the fitting room together and I stripped down to my bra and panties. I was wearing bikini panties so Momma said, If I see your panties showing after you put this bottom on, then it's too skimpy. I agreed. So I put the bikini on. While my bra showed around the top part, the bottom completely covered my panties even though my cheeks were a little exposed. She had me turn around a couple of times and bend over then straighten back up. I loved the way it looked on me and the way it fit. But Momma seemed a little hesitant. I was begging her to let me have it and she had me turn my back to her one more time. She said, "Baby Girl, you got some cheek showing here, and then pinched my butt." I said, "Please Momma it ain't that much." She gave me a serious look and I knew the answer was going to be no. Then said in a serious tone, "Sonya Marie" then she smiled and said, "Its yours." I started thanking her and hugged her neck for all I was worth. When we got home, I put it on and showed it to Daddy. He looked at me all serious and said, "Baby Girl, what are you wearing?" and I looked at him and stomped my foot and said, "Daddy!" Then he winked and smiled and then turned to Momma chuckled and said, "Well Momma, I guess I'll have to take the shotgun with me to keep the boys away."
