Momma did most of the spankings. Most of our spankings took place in the living room which I guess you could say, added a little formality too them. Before the spanking you had to stand in front of them and receive a lecture about why you were getting spanked. Then you'd be told to bare your butt and turn over their knee and get your spanking. After the spanking, your punishment was generally over. You could go to your room, go watch tv or whatever. We generally would go back to our room. I usually went to mine to check the damage and have a good cry. A lot of the time, they would come in to talk and generally we would make up. Now for the differences... Momma was usually the one who did the spanking. She would scold you before and sometimes during and after the spanking. She would either spank by hand or hairbrush. When she used her hand, she smacked hard and fast and continued until your butt was completely red. With the hairbrush, she was a little slower and more deliberate and a hairbrush spanking usually wasn't a long as one of her hand spankings. Many times, she would continue to scold you during the spankings and sometimes even punctuated her words by giving harder swats. Sometimes after the spanking while you were rubbing crying and then pulling your pants back up, she would continue scolding you. After she would give you time to settle down, she would usually talk to and make up with you. Daddy on the other hand, Wasn't as intense as Momma. His scolding was more like a lecture. He would be stern but always sounded sad when he scolded you. Once he finished, he would have you bare your bottom and turn over his knee. Daddy's spankings were hard and slow. He generally only gave you between ten and fifteen smacks. He was tall and strong and had big hands that were toughened up by a lifetime of hard labor. It was seriously almost like being hit with a big paddle or stiff strap. There would literally be a couple of seconds between each smack. By the second or third, I was usually bawling. He might saw a few words after it was over, but honestly I wouldn't really hear what he was saying over my own crying. After I went to my room after, he would usually come to check on me. We'd sit and talk for a while and in the end, I'd almost always get one of his big bear hugs and a kiss on the head. I was four, the first time Momma spanked me and seventeen the last time. I was six the first time Daddy spanked me and eighteen the last time. Of the two, I always dreaded spankings from Daddy more than from Momma. I can't say it's because his hurt more, or I was more embarrassed to be spanked bare by him than by Momma. From the time I was born, I've always been "Daddy's Baby Girl". To this very day, he still calls me Baby Girl. His spankings hurt my feelings more than the one's from Momma. The fact that I put him in the position where he had to spank me made me feel incredibly guilty. Anyway that pretty much sums up the difference in how my parents spanked.
