Yes I had same kind of experience at beaches certainly. I was always stripped while girls in group were more modest in bottoms or one piece based on age. Our routine was to walk along until we saw other boys for me to play with and usually naked too.

I was told it was necessary as I got too sandy and girl enjoyed it better, and easier to wash off. I did it till 12 and sometimes till 14 if beach was empty
