I see no reason why the boy's sacred icon should not be shown to everyone he sees.
People will no longer have to say, "Don't be silly, she's just a little girl."
People will no longer have to say, "Don't be silly, she's raised boys of her own and has seen it all before."
People will no longer have to say, "Don't be silly, she's going to be a mother some day and needs to know what boys look like."
People will no longer have to say, "Quit that towel dancing. Everyone in here looks just like you."

I don't have the statistics to prove this, but I betcha there have been fewer male homosexuals, transsexuals, and transvestites among men with memories of skinny dipping, nude swim meets, Victorian beaches, or tropical villages.
