That misspelling must be what scamptoo was referring to when he congratulated … on his “nice try.” That reminds me of a couple of contributions which were submitted to the Voy forums in 2020. The contributor claimed to be a girl who served as counselor in a Methodist camp from the age of 13 until the age of 17. The campers were ages 8 to 13. Other counselors ranged up to 18, and they were all girls. They decided to take advantage of their power by looking for excuses to make the boys go nude. This was during the Sixties, when many other sites required boys to swim naked, so that an obvious starting point. On some days, they cooked lunch on the grill, so they called the boys out of the water for lunch. They recalled the rule that one must wait for an hour after eating before getting back into the water. That gave them an excuse to make the boys stay out of the water nude for a whole hour. Then there were special events. At the beginning of the season, there was a get-acquainted session. The camp was close to the US-Canadian border, so they had campers from both countries. They celebrated Canada Day on July 1 and Independence Day on July 4. They celebrated the first day of summer on July 20. Three counselors had birthdays during the camp season, so that accounted for three more celebrations. The boys had to attend all of these celebrations nude. The contributor’s first message drew keen interest from other forum members, including me. I wanted to believe it because it was a heck of a good story. I asked her (assuming it was really a girl) for any leaflets, pamphlets, or any other material about the camp, because I wanted to write a book about it. But then she forgot what her name was. Her first message was under the name of Keslie, but now she wrote under the name of Kelsey. That cost her a great deal of credibility.
