Usually, most mothers help their sons with hygiene and bathing until puberty, so checking the testicles may be part of this routine. However, after the appearance of pubic hair and visible body changes and development of the genitals, boys begin to become shy and the desire for privacy increases. Are these testicle ecsams the only time when your mother sees your penis and testicles after you enter puberty, and are these proceduress prescribed by the pediatrician or on her own initiative?

Yes, the checks were recommended by my doctor. My mom also saw me naked for spankings.

So glad to have this board to share experiences as I can not discuss these things directly with friends...
I was a foster kid from 9 to 17. I had wonderful doting foster mom not able to have biological children and she kept me and girl. I also got a quarterly physical and visit every two months from social worker as a formality, and mom got a ton of food stamps. I am now in 10 percent earner so paying it back I guess.
I would get in tub with girl and scrubbed head to toe often. The quarterly physicals back then always mentioned boys to have testes self exams. I never hear about it now. I would get one in tub and then quarterly where I was checked for bruises too. I always slept naked.

I assumed you were examined in front of the girl? Was she a similar age to you and did she get exams as well?
I was bathed with girls on my street and it was something normal for me although the concept seems to horrify people now. I also had regular exams from the health clinic, my school and my mum because I had what they called a constitutional delay entering adolescence, and they wanted to keep a close check to make sure I was developing properly overall, if slowly.

That is good. I never had issues though. I had same mom and same nurse always present.

I remember my first testicle exam by our family doctor when I was 8. Although I was a bit embarrassed at first, it felt good too as she gently inspected my testicles and penis. She walked my mom through the process and told her that I should be examined once per month and to call the office if she felt any type of stiffness like a small pebble.
Mom set up a schedule to examine me after school the last Friday of each month. One time though a few months later, I got into trouble and mom pulled my pants and briefs down to spank me. When she finished spanking me and rubbed my butt a bit, she said that we might as well do a testicle exam since the last Friday was coming up.
