 Cathy, the paddle my husband made is shaped like a "frat paddle" but the wood is thin and it is not so long, about one foot. It is my favorite because he made it himself, for me. Also, for a few years it was our only implement, though we found, and agreed, that it doesn't really sting enough.

The paddles he bought are much more effective. However, in the past few years he really prefers his big flat hairbrush. It is not as severe as the bath brush. However, because he spanks me rapidly, he says he has the most control to spank me with the hairbrush. I absolutely hate the spankings with the hairbrush.
