 I can't imagine my husband ever checking the cleanliness of my clothing, not that he would ever find anything dirty. But he if wanted to check cleanliness, I would not object.

As for appropriateness, I generally know what he likes me to wear and I do try to pleas him. I know he prefers that I wear dresses or skirts rather than slacks or jeans, and so that's what I generally wear and he seems pleased. The one exception is that he likes me to dress sexier than I normally would -- he wants more cleavage showing, shorter skirts, maybe no bra. He insists and I obey, because is not asking me to wear anything unreasonable (he doesn't want me to look slutty), and I primarily dress to please him.
