 My grandmas on both sides were allowed to spank me, and they had no problem whatsoever using that authority. Both of my grandfathers died before I was born, so not applicable to them obviously.

In fact, my earliest spanking memory is one I received from my grandma on my mom’s side. When I was 5, my mother was injured badly in a car crash and was bedridden for awhile. My two grandmas took turns moving into our house and acting as surrogate mothers during that time, and that included giving spankings as needed.

To tie this back to the purpose of the forum, my mother has a story from when she was a teenager. She and her sister got in trouble and their punishment was to clean and organize the basement. Apparently my grandfather found whatever they did funny and laughed about it, so grandma sent him down to clean too.
