Trying to create a wide variety of threads here for discussion, feel free to create your own or add to thse, we love you participating!

So some of us old enough like me, probably had parents who had the rule you eat whats put in front of you for meals or go hungry. But there was another group of parents who said you'd have to eat dinner for breakfast - my mom said that and meant it!

Some say that can cause food issues as adults, and I suppose in rare cases thats true, but how does everyone handle food complaints now?

I will make them sit there up to half an hour after suppers done if I have the time, until they heat the fair age appropriate serving on their plate. If they still don't eat it, it means a spanking and likely no dessert for a few nights.

Ive had it where I was spanking Matthew at the dining table while his sister had her dessert because he was just whining and carrying on about how unfair it was

Its less of a problem than when we first started with that rule, but there are moments. Especially since when I know something is a non liked food, I do tend to serve it fairly often to try and get them used to it. That can sometimes cause start of a meltdown (i say start of because I never let it turn into a full one)

I try to cook things we all enjoy or tolerate of course and allow some nights of fast food or pizza or something, but try to have them eat healthy.

So how do you handle complaints at the family dinner table?
