 After giving our ten year old ds a spanking today we had one of our post-spanking talks, which I cherish. He asked why I spank one side after another. It is not something which I have thought about for a long time. I told him that is the way Grandma spanked me, which created some obvious bonding, which I found touching.

But my explanation for alternating cheeks is that I can make sure his bottom is very sore while avoiding excessive spanks in the same place and accidentally going overboard. I got some grudging approval on that also.

I do spank alternate cheeks, looking for overall uniform redness on their bottoms, and then do another coat and etc. as needed. I also periodically spank across the middle, and on upper thighs.

Anyone else spank alternate cheeks? Another pattern?
